Tens of thousands of New Yorkers turned out for an unusally emotional Pride Parade over the weekend.
While parade-goers had much to celebrate -- including continuing progress across the country in ratifying same-sex marriage and President Obama’s designation of the Stonewall Inn as a national historic monument -- the festivities were weighed down by the shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando, killing 49 people.
In addition to marchers from throughout the country -- including many people who said they decided to participate after Orlando -- Hillary Clinton, Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio also joined the parade in the West Village.
