Man arrested for threats with knife during traffic disputePolice arrested a 48-year-old man for menacing behavior at the northwest corner of Ninth Avenue and West 37th Street last Friday at 7:20 p.m. Police said that a cab driver and the suspect got into a traffic dispute when the suspect reportedly displayed a knife and threatened to slap the victim with it. Police said that the knife was recovered from the scene.
Man harassed at West 21st and Eighth A 31-year-old man who was in New York last week for the United Nations General Assembly reported that he was harassed at the northwest corner of West 21st Street and Eighth Avenue last Thursday at 8:20 p.m. He told police that he was pushed in the shoulder by an unknown man who also shouted threats at the victim, causing him to be alarmed and fear for his safety. No arrests have been made.
Bag stolen at Marina PierA 53-year-old man reported that his bag was stolen from a bench at Marina Pier at the northwest corner of West 26th Street and 12th Avenue last Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. The victim told police that he fell asleep on the bench around 11 p.m. on Tuesday and when he woke up around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, he noticed that someone had removed his bag, which contained clothing and his ID.
Woman harassed while unloading storage unitA man and a woman got into an argument inside Manhattan Storage at 520 West 17th Street last Thursday at 6:15 p.m. The woman told police that the 60-year-old man shoved her and yelled at her for blocking the hallway in the storage facility while she was unloading her unit.
The man told police that the woman was harassing him because he was trying to get to his unit and she was blocking his way. He told police that he asked her to move and she refused, resulting in them shouting back and forth at each other, and the woman allegedly pushed her cart into him. The man said that he was not injured but he was annoyed and fearful of his safety.
The woman’s age was unknown. Both individuals involved filed reports against each other but neither was arrested.
Woman harassed by CVS employeeA 47-year-old woman told police last Thursday at 5:30 a.m. that a CVS employee who works at 500 West 23rd Street has been harassing her. The victim reported that she has been staying with a friend nearby on West 19th Street between Ninth and 10th Avenues and is a frequent shopper at the CVS, and she said that she got the suspect’s phone number about three months ago. She told police that she asked the man to stop sending her the messages, which were inappropriate and sexual in nature, but he did not.
