Drunken Munkey — 338 East 92nd Street“Monkeys are whimsical and playful and that fits with our theme,” says Arun Mirchandani, the owner of Drunken Munkey about his Indian restaurant and cocktail bar. Arun spent time working in other restaurants and bars over the years, but it was always his dream to have his own place — he just needed to figure out exactly what his concept would be. “I recognized the density in population in this area and the variety of restaurants, but there was nowhere for people to go to have a nice drink and relax.” Opened at the end of 2013, Drunken Munkey has a limited menu — not the typical Indian choices — highlighting a little bit of every region, as well as classic street food found in India.
