Kee’s Chocolate — 315 West 39th StreetIn 2001, owner Kee Ling Tong went to Paris for a three-month baking internship before coming back to New York to decide her next move. She found baking a bit unsatisfying because “everything is so precise” that it did not allow sufficient room for creativity. Within a month of her return, the September 11th attacks struck New York. Relegated to her home while the city recovered, Kee began playing with chocolate, and the rest is history. Her gorgeous and decadent morsels are as beautiful as they are delicious.
