The Art Studio NY — 145 West 96th Street
Rebecca Schweiger, a trained painter, began giving classes to five students in her apartment in 2004. She has always been “enamored by the power of creativity” and believes that “art is one of the best kept secrets. It’s an elixir for all life experiences.” At a certain point in her own life, Rebecca realized that she wanted to teach: “I always wanted to make a difference in people’s lives.” Her goal at The Art Studio NY is to bring art to people who do not think that they are creative. From weekly classes for the very young, to “paint and sip” sessions with groups of adult friends (complete with wine), her days are jam-packed with artists on any and every level. Schweiger recently published her first book, “Release Your Creativity — Discover Your Inner Artist with 15 Simple Painting Projects.”
