London Calling

An 81-year-old Upper West Side woman was bilked out of thousands after sending cash to a London address. She reported to police Dec. 4 that she received a call from a person claiming to be a cop informing her that her grandson-using his actual name-was in custody. She was instructed to send $2,500 for bail to a London address through Western Union. She later received a call from another man claiming to be an attorney working on her grandson's behalf pro bono, likely a second attempt to get more money. She contacted police after that call.
