Man Charged With Murdering Father

    By [Reid Spagna] The son of a man found dead with a stab wound to the neck was arrested and charged with murder in the second degree, police said. Police found the dead body of 70-year-old Fumitaka Kurita on the floor of his 175 W. 87th St. apartment after responding his son's 911 call the evening of July 19. The son, 33-year-old Julian Kurita, told the 911 operator he slit his own wrists and stabbed his father in the throat. The body was lying face-up on the floor with a bleeding laceration to his throat. When the police arrived, Julian Kurita was sitting on a chair while holding his arm, saying that he was bleeding. He was taken to St. Luke?s Hospital in stable condition. Julian Kurita was later transferred to Bellevue Hospital. He also faces charges of criminal possession of a weapon.
