Man Violently Assaulted, Robbed

A 52-year-old Upper West Side man was attacked with a baseball bat in a mugging near his home. Police said that April 21 at 2:25 p.m., the man was fighting with two other men in front of 119 W. 71st St. and Columbus Avenue, across the street from his apartment. One attacker came at him with a baseball bat and took a swing, hitting the victim in the chest and left hand. The other mugger took the victim?s cell phone and jumped into a car with New Jersey license plates. Nearby, police found the victim?s broken cell phone in the street.
