Mayoral Transportation Authority

Pretty soon, if you want to take a picture on a subway car, the only way to do it may be to have one of Mayor Bloomberg's personal assistants push the button. Page Two recently walked onto an F train to find the mayor himself smiling for a camera, a tourist grasping his hand. The guarding police officer must've been grinding the teeth behind his moustache. After all, it was at the request of the NYPD that MTA officials proposed prohibiting photography and videotaping in the subway system.

How do they expect people to get the point with the mayor himself welcoming all shutterbugs with open arms?

Other activities that may soon be outlawed (and thus draw a fine of $25 to $100): walking between subway cars, placing a foot on a subway seat and standing on a skateboard or riding a scooter. All crucial in the fight against terror, we're sure, but if the MTA is going to outlaw something, how about making it against the law to spill a milkshake or other fluids onto a subway seat? We saw the mayor do that once, too, but nobody believes us.
