MIDTOWN BID ELECTS OFFICERS
By [Reid Spagna] On June 17, the East Midtown Partnership, a Business Improvement District, held its 9th Annual Meeting of Membership at the Friars" Club, located on 57 E. 55th St. between Park and Madison avenues. Debra Fechter, of Digby Management Company, was re-elected for a third year as chair of the Board of Directors. Joanne Porrazzo, Brian Steinwurtzel and Adam Zickerman were all reelected as vice chair, treasurer and secretary, respectively. Rob Byrnes will continue on as the organization"s president, a position that he has held since 2002. The event featured New York Times urban affairs correspondent Sam Roberts as a guest speaker. As a Business Improvement District, the East Midtown Partnership provides services for Midtown Manhattan businesses such as sanitation, security, homeless outreach and beautification programs. Its jurisdiction stretches from roughly East 49th to 63rd streets, and from Second to Madison avenues.
