National Taxpayers Union: NY Congressional Delegation Is Too Taxing

    The National Taxpayers Union (NTU) has just issued its survey of the previous session of Congress outlining just which legislators they've found to be the most friendly to their anti-tax position.

    The highest scoring Congressman in the state is Staten Island/Brooklyn Rep. Vito Fossella (pictured), who picked up a B+ from the group. No one else, Republican and Democrat alike, even came close, and every single Democrat scored an F. Both Senators Hillary Clinton and Chuck Schumer were also given an F.

    “Even as most Senators were trying to crawl halfway out of Washington’s cesspool of wasteful spending, the typical House Member simply continued to tread in murky waters,” said NTU President John Berthoud. “As far as taxpayers are concerned, the next Congress will sink or swim based on how it tackles vital concerns like deficit spending, tax complexity, and regulatory overkill.”
