    the city's parks department is accepting proposals for the renovation and operation of the iconic restaurant tavern on the green. the department is issued a request for proposals (rfp) for the 74-year-old restaurant near the west 67th street entrance of central park. successful proposals will show deference to the building's original victorian gothic architecture and the character of the surrounding parkland, according to the department. aspiring or seasoned entrepreneurs are welcome to submit proposals by may 1 at or by calling the parks revenue division at 212-360-3454. the department said information regarding the volume of rfps cannot be made known until the deadline, so as to not compromise the search.
