New York Family Weekend Planner: February 24-26

While it seems that the city decided to usher in spring a little early this week, we're not entirely sold just yet. So here's a list of fun indoor activities to whip your weekend into shape, from a really cool family day at the Rubin Museum to an Oscar kick-off (with the Muppets, of course) in Queens. FRIDAY-SUNDAY The recipe for a great weekend: birthday bashes and safari animals. Head to the [final days of The Intrepid's Kids Week](http://www.newyorkfamily.com/newyork/blog-2653-kids-week-2012-at-the-intrepid.html). Catch [Cirque Le Jazz](http://www.newyorkfamily.com/newyork/event-50976-theater-for-the-new-city-presents-cirque-le-jazz.html) at the Theater for the New City for some Big Band anthems, Broadway-style dancing and aerial acrobatics. FRIDAY-SATURDAY Classic scenes from The Nutcracker plus brand new ballets will be shown at [Ballet Academy East's Studio Showing](http://www.newyorkfamily.com/newyork/event-51015-ballet-academy-east-studio-showing.html).
