Not Another Paris Headline

As we reported in the [June 6th issue](http://www.nypress.com/20/23/news&columns/feature4.cfm ), fark, (AKA news [coverage of Paris Hilton](http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/24/us/24paris.html?ex=1184299200&en=5164ae52c9a1af82&ei=5070)) has been routinely making headlines. But a change in the wind is coming as some journalists are standing up and saying, “We’re not gonna to take it.”

Following in the [Associated Press]’ footsteps, [Us Weekly](http://usmagazine.com/b_us_weekly_b_gives_paris_and_you_a_rest) has, for one whole week, [taken Paris out](http://slate.com/id/2169484/) of their publication to make room for more hard-hitting news—celebrity baby pictures. It’s a step in the right direction…kinda.

And as demonstrated in the below YouTube clip, MSNBC reporter [Mika Brzezinski] now refuses to deliver you your daily does of Paris fark—but she will mention the heiress’ name 112-plus times in a single segment. Maybe she’s tired of the ol’ girl, or perhaps she thinks it’s better to make headlines for banning her rather than promoting another “Paris story.”
