Old Man to Continue Professionally Playing Catch

Out of all the places the future hall of fame QB could have landed, [Brett Farve is arriving in New York]. The whole Farve-coming-back-from-retirement saga is finally over after dominating sports TV for almost a month. Farve, who played 16 years in Green Bay before retiring at the end of this season, felt unwanted by his former team when he got the itch to return to the NFL. The Packers couldn’t let Brett hold their team hostage for another year with his on-and-off retirement ideas while his back up, and former first round pick, Aaron Rodger was eager to get off the bench and take control. It’s great for [The Jets](http://www.newyorkjets.com/) to land such a great player, especially to replace their crappy quarterback competition between Chad Pennington and Kellen Clemens.

Nobody in the sports world expected the Jets to get Farve; instead the Buccaneers and the Vikings were front runners and already have play off potential. The Jets gave up a fourth round draft pick, which has the potential, depending on how Brett plays, to become a third, second or first round pick on escalators, including a Super Bowl appearance. Farve probably envisioned his return to the NFL as a storybook ending of a 38-year-old quarterback winning it all and riding off into the sunset, but the problem is he’s going to be playing for New York’s red headed step child of a football team, the Jets. Having to face the Patriots twice in division play really hurts his chances of success in the big apple, but at least he still gets to wear green. Good Luck #4.
