One Day, Two Robberies

A man was arrested after his second robbery in the span of minutes. Police said that March 7 at 8:38 p.m., William Perry, 52, tried to steal a full tip jar from Screme Gelato Bar, at 2030 Broadway and West 70th Street. The owner followed Perry as he fled into a nearby Food Emporium supermarket. Cops said that Perry was found assisting a 63-year-old woman who was trying to use the self-check-out. He grabbed a $20 bill from the woman?s hand, but was tackled to the ground by an employee.
