PHONY APARTMENT LISTING

a 35-year-old upper west side man was conned out of $1,450 when he wired that amount as the down payment for a west 36th street apartment listed on craigslist. the man, who lives on west end avenue and west 81st street, told police on march 3 that he wired the money to a bank of america account. the victim, however, realized the apartment does not exist.
