Photo Fraud

A series of forged checks were drawn against the account of a local photo agency. At 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7, the owner of the business on West 81st Street, a 67-year-old man, went to his bank's ATM to withdraw money and was informed that his business account was overdrawn. A representative of the bank showed him eight checks issued from his company, only one of which was authentic. The business owner said that he had never given anyone authority to cash the checks. The total of the forged checks came to $7,950.
