Pressed for Time: All-American Genderfuck Cabaret

If your heteronormative or homonormative ideas of gender aren’t jiggled around at least once a week, you’re a week closer to complacence. This play, in which eight gender stereotypes—girly girl, manly man, nice guy, gay best friend, slut, feminist lesbian and tomboy—are run through the ringer, is nothing if not a gender jostle. The production promises to skewer “everything from feminism to sexting; from acquaintance rape to infidelity.” That’s a long skewer.

Bottom Line: Dust off your Judith Butler and get to the theater.
