Pressed for Time: Chaplains Under Fire

| 13 Aug 2014 | 03:55

    Opens April 6, Walter Reade Theater, 165 W. 65th St. (betw. Broadway & Amsterdam Ave.); 6:30, $12.

You’ve spent the week drinking moonshine and watching religious tits fly around, now ponder the serious side of things with a documentary about how chaplains function on the battlefield. Set in Iraq and Afghanistan, Chaplains Under Fire explores how faith supports and sustains, for better or for worse, those soldiers at war.

Bottom Line: A sober and thought-provoking glimpse into a world too complex and painful to be treated ironically.
