Pressed for Time: Horror Punk and Psychobilly Concert

| 13 Aug 2014 | 03:55

April 1, Club Europa, 98 Meserole Ave. (betw. Manhattan Ave. & Lorimer St.), Brooklyn, 718-383-5723; 7, $10.

Two oft-maligned and generally misunderstood genres get a night to shine. Calabrese, by far the most accomplished and joyful of Arizona horror punk bands, combines Boris Karloff’s sinister nature and Tunnel of Love’s loud exuberance. New York City’s own The Tombstone Brawlers and Massachusetts’ The Creepin’ Cadavers creep things up with power chords and scowls.

Bottom Line: Slick back your hair and put on your fangs. Let’s rock out, you faggots!
