Pressed for Time: Statuesque

| 13 Aug 2014 | 05:10

Opens June 2, City Hall Park, enter park at Barclay Street & Broadway; Free.

Statuesque is usually used to describe blondes and annoying street performers who don a Liberty Mask, paint themselves green and expect you to pay them for standing still. This installation though, brought to you by the Public Art Fund, features the work of six international artists, including Polish sculptor Pawel Althamer (whose earlier work was a giant naked-man-float) and Turner Prize-winning sculptor Rebecca Warren.

Bottom Line: Art! And you don’t have to give anybody money just for standing around.
