Pressed for Time: The Joshua Light Show

| 13 Aug 2014 | 04:50

May 12-15, Abrons Art Center, 466 Grand St. (near Pitt St.), 212-598- 0400; 8, $20.

In the 1960s, Joshua White designed psychedelic light shows for Hendrix, Joplin and Jefferson Airplane at The Fillmore East (the real Fillmore East). Later in his life he directed episodes of Seinfield and Inside the Actor’s Studio, but he never let go of the light. For four nights, his bright lights are projected with accompaniment from eight bands.  Highlights include Silver Apples appearing with Oneida on the 14th and Spectrum the following night.

Bottom Line: Don’t waste the acid, you won’t need it to trip.
