Rudy's Train Keeps Rolling On

A new [Rasmussen poll] finds that former Mayor Rudy Giuliani is still the preferred choice among Republicans for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination.

Giuliani grabs 28% in the poll, followed by Arizona Republican Senator John McCain at 20%. Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich gets 14% and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney snagged 8%.

The poll also notes that Giuliani's campaign could also help McCain through defeat, keeping the focus on the two biggest names and preventing more conservative primary voters from lining up behind a more hardline righty as part of an "anyone but him" movement.
