SACRED HEART EXPANSION

The all-girls school Convent of the Sacred Heart has purchased a nearby building, 406-416 E. 91st St. from Verizon. The school acquired the 35,000-square-foot building with the help of real estate company Jones Lang LaSalle. â??The Convent of the Sacred Heart was looking to expand its facilities by acquiring a property near its current location, said JLL"s managing director Peter Hennessy. â??The East 91st Street building is located on the same street and will allow the school to expand both its curricular and physical education programs. The Convent of the Sacred Heart, at 1 E. 91st St., plans to use the building as a multiplatform physical education facility that may include a pool and regulation-size gymnasium. Renovations will begin once Verizon vacates the building in 2010.
