Select Bus Service Is a Waste of Money

To the Editor: Re: â??Bus Lane Not Yet on Candid Camera (April 15), when I first heard the idea of Select Bus Service's about three years ago's on First and Second avenues, I never thought it would go very far. After all, there are limited buses on both avenues and the additional funds required for the Select Buses could be better used for more regular MTA buses or holding down fares. There are many avenues in the city that have no limited bus service. With the city, state and MTA facing sizable deficits, Select Bus Service appears to be a waste of money, and a service that has not been publicized to get a feedback from residents.
