That's So Fat

Are you so fat you don’t even know what you’re stuffing in your mouth anymore?  Are you one of those people that don’t know fast-food is bad for you?  Well, you’re in luck!

The city Board of Health approved a reworked law yesterday requiring all fast-food restaurants to display [calorie counts on the menu].  Starting March 31, all restaurant chains with 15 or more outlets will have to list the calorie intake of all items on menus and boards with the same size letters and numbers as the name of the item.

"It's going to get a lot easier to make informed choices at New York City's chain restaurants this spring," said Margo Wootan, nutrition policy director of the Center for Science in the Public Interest.

Taking a quick glance at the [McDonald’s website], the highest calorie item available to order is the Chocolate Triple Thick® Shake coming in at a whopping 1160 calories. That’s just for a milkshake! It'll be easier to wait in line for Shake Shack and gobble down something without any knowledge of the calories being consumed. Thank you fast casual restaurant with a gourmet flourish!
