“Do you sometimes feel sad or down? Do you feel stressed? Do you find it difficult to get excited about certain things—like taxes for instance?” According to Dr. Lanny Latham, certified life coach, if you answered yes to any of these questions then you need to “Get Psyched.”

“It means a lot of things, but mainly it means being in a constant state of psychedness,” says Dr. Latham, whose Get Psyched method is explained in detail on his website and at weekly seminars held at Rififi. Co-hosted by musician and performer, Adira Amram, Get Psyched has been entertaining crowds and motivating individuals for weeks. “I figured the East Village of New York City was the perfect place to get started because there is a very high correlation between laughter and getting psyched, I also decided to bring in some professional comedians to delight and entertain the audience.”

Onstage, Dr. Latham’s energy is contagious. He hops around, jumps rope, does a one-handed push-up, all in the name of getting psyched. But how does one get psyched exactly? Simply follow Dr. Latham’s “Seven Steps to Living a Better Life”:

    1. Get Psyched 2. Have Fun 3.Pump It Up 4. Go For It 5. Enjoy 6. Drink Plenty of Fluids and 7.Get Psyched. After only a single session, the feeling in the audience is palpable: Everyone in attendance is psyched!
