Two Car Break-Ins
Two cars parked near each other in the Upper West Side were burglarized. The owners of each car reported the incidents to police Aug. 2. One car belonged to the federal Drug Enforcement Agency. The 35-year-old employee parked the car on 73 W. 83rd St. and Columbus Avenue. A burglar broke the passenger-side window on the 2006 Dodge Caravan and stole a $160 GPS, government gas card, EZ Pass, vehicle registration and gas receipts. The other car was parked across the street from 215 W. 84th St. between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue. The 60-year-old owner reported to police that when he got to his car, he found his passenger-side window broken and the glove box open. His wife?s purse, which she left in the car, a $300 GPS, a $90 radar detector and $200 in a wallet were stolen.
