WHOLE FOODS DONATES TO LINCOLN CENTER
By [Sharon Elizabeth Samuel] Customers who bring their own shopping bags to the Whole Foods store at Columbus Circle will be offered the option to donate their 10-cents-per-bag refund to Lincoln Center's free and community programming from Dec. 6 through Jan. 31, 2011. Donation amounts will depend on the number of bags required to carry each customer's groceries. Each bag saved will afford 10 cents for the fundraiser. "Lincoln Center's free and community programs, which include Meet the Artist Saturday family performances at the David Rubenstein Atrium and the longstanding free series of performances in August entitled Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors, connect the community to what is happening at Lincoln Center," said Tamar Podell, senior vice president of Planning and Development at Lincoln Center. Other community events that will benefit from the Whole Foods fundraiser include Lincoln Center's American Songbook, Lincoln Center Festival, Midsummer Night Swing and the Mostly Mozart Festival.
